Technique: Insert the claw tips under the raised center pin of the fastener, squeeze gently to unseat the pin, then lift the entire body of the clip out of the mounting hole.
Preserving Plastic Fasteners: Most riders break plastic push pins because they attempt to lever the outer flange rather than lifting the center expansion pin first. The center pin expands the lower legs behind the panel; forcing the outer collar while the center pin is engaged shears the expanding legs off entirely. The PinKlaw is shaped to slip specifically between the center pin and the outer collar, releasing the internal expanding wedge so the entire clip slides out without resistance.
Clearing Mud & Grit First: On off-road bikes and UTVs, plastic push rivets in skid plates and inner fender liners often become packed with dried mud and sand, locking the center pin in place.
