Over time, dirt and water penetrate control cable housings, creating internal friction that leads to a stiff throttle turn, heavy clutch pull, and premature cable fraying or snapping.

Featuring an updated, double-plunger rubber seal architecture, the Cable Luber V3 forms a pressure-tight hydraulic seal around cable housings ranging from 4mm to 8.5mm in diameter. This allows the tool to secure tightly onto outer housings without slipping or leaking aerosol lubricant out the sides. The specialized injector port accepts standard aerosol lube straw nozzles, directing 100% of the pressurized fluid straight down the cable sheath until clean lubricant exits the opposite end.

Application & Usage Notes:

• Cable Preparation: Disconnect the cable from the handlebar lever or throttle housing. Slide the tool over the exposed inner wire and clamp the rubber seal firmly onto the outer housing end.

• Lube Straw Insertion: Insert the straw of your preferred aerosol cable lubricant or contact cleaner into the rubber port and apply short bursts until clean fluid flows out the bottom end of the cable.

• Teflon/Lined Cable Care: Many modern OEM and high-end aftermarket control cables utilize an internal longitudinal PTFE (Teflon) liner to reduce friction. When lubricating lined cables, avoid using heavy, solvent-heavy chassis greases or harsh chemical penetrants that can degrade or swell the plastic liner. Always use a dedicated light cable lubricant (such as Maxima Cable Lube) that is explicitly labeled safe for Teflon-lined cables.

• The Two-Step Flush: For heavily contaminated off-road cables, use a two-step process with the Cable Luber V3. First, inject short bursts of electrical contact cleaner or brake cleaner through the tool to blast out trapped silt and grit. Once the runoff at the lower end runs completely clear, wait several minutes for the cleaner to evaporate, then inject dedicated cable lubricant until it emerges from the lower end.
