K&N premium oil filters for powersports vehicles utilize an innovative, highly efficient synthetic-blend filtration media designed to be compatible with synthetic, petroleum-based, and blended oils, including the high concentrations of synthetic racing oils. The heavy-duty canister is engineered to be exceptionally durable, and a 17mm welded hex nut can be used for quick and easy filter removal. The 17mm hex nut on the end of this filter is designed strictly for removal only. Never use a wrench or ratchet on that nut to tighten the filter during installation. Using mechanical leverage to install the filter will crush the internal rubber O-ring, leading to a catastrophic oil leak. Always apply a thin film of fresh engine oil to the rubber gasket and tighten the filter by hand (usually 3/4 to 1 full turn after the gasket makes contact with the engine block).
