Tekton 1/4" Standard Drive Extensions

Tekton 1/4 Inch Drive Standard Extensions provide the necessary reach to access deeply recessed or obstructed fasteners on your motorcycle, ATV, or UTV. Available from TMBR MOTO in 3-inch, 6-inch, and 9-inch lengths, these extensions bridge the gap between your ratchet and the socket, allowing you to easily navigate around exhaust pipes, frame rails, and tightly packed engine components.

Unlike "wobble" style extensions that intentionally allow for off-angle turning, these are standard, fixed square-drive extensions. They are designed to lock your socket into a perfectly straight alignment, ensuring 100% torque transfer and reducing the risk of slipping or rounding out shallow bolt heads. Each extension is forged from premium Chrome Vanadium (Cr-V) steel and features a spring-loaded detent ball to keep your sockets securely attached. A durable, mirror-polished chrome finish prevents corrosion and allows the tool to easily wipe clean of shop grease and oil.

Fitment Notes:

• 3 + 6 = 9: If you are building a custom tool kit to carry with you, we highly recommend carrying a 3-inch and a 6-inch extension rather than a single 9-inch. They take up less linear space in your tool kit, and you can simply plug the 3-inch directly into the 6-inch to create a 9-inch reach whenever necessary. 9-inch and 12-inch extensions are great in the shop though

• Standard vs. Wobble Extensions: While wobble extensions are fantastic for reaching bolts at awkward angles, they inherently lose a small amount of torque and can occasionally cause sockets to slip off shallow bolt heads. For fasteners that require high break-away torque, or when you have a straight shot at the bolt, a standard fixed extension is always the superior choice. It provides a rigid, direct connection to the fastener, drastically reducing the chance of stripping delicate aluminum motorcycle hardware.

• 1/4-Inch Drive: Outside of high-torque chassis and axle fasteners, 1/4-inch drive tools are a practical choice for motorcycle maintenance. Their shorter handles naturally limit leverage, drastically reducing the risk of stripping delicate threads in soft aluminum or plastics. The compact ratchets and thin-walled sockets easily access tight clearances, provide superior tactile feedback, and take up minimal space in a tool kit.
