Steahly Offroad 14mm Two Stroke Engine Lock Up Tool

The Steahly Offroad Engine Lock-Up Tool (E-3) is a specialized shop accessory designed to safely prevent crankshaft rotation during internal engine service on 2-stroke motorcycles. Removing or torquing stubborn flywheel nuts, primary gear nuts, and clutch hub assemblies often requires locking the engine in place. Attempting to do this by jamming a rag into the primary gears or using an unstable holding tool can cause severe damage to the engine internals.

This simple but highly effective "piston stop" tool threads directly into your 14mm spark plug hole. When the engine is slowly turned over by hand, the top of the piston gently bottoms out against the rounded, non-marring tip of the tool. This locks the crankshaft securely in place, allowing you to easily apply a breaker bar or torque wrench to the engine's external nuts without the engine spinning out of time.

Fitment Notes:

• 2-Stroke Engines Only: Fits 2-stroke engines utilizing a 14mm spark plug (commonly replaces NGK BR-series or B-series plugs).

• 4-Stroke Warning: We cannot stress this enough: piston stop tools are exclusively for 2-strokes. A 2-stroke combustion chamber is an empty dome, meaning the tool rests cleanly against the center of the piston. A 4-stroke has intake and exhaust valves extending down into the combustion chamber. If you thread this tool into a 4-stroke head and turn the crankshaft, the rising piston will push a delicate valve directly into the this tool, potentially bending the valve and requiring a complete cylinder head rebuild.

• Manual Operation Only: Once the tool is threaded into the two stroke cylinder head, gently turn the engine over by hand using a socket on the flywheel or primary nut until you feel the piston make solid contact with the tool tip. Never use the kickstarter or an electric starter to turn the engine over while this tool is installed, as the extreme force will punch the tool directly through the top of the piston.
