SKF Dual Compound Fork Seal Kit for 49mm Showa Forks 

The SKF Dual Compound Fork Seal Kit (DUAL-49S) is a premium suspension upgrade designed to significantly reduce fork stiction while vastly extending the lifespan of your fork seals. Standard OEM fork seals are typically made from a single rubber compound that is forced to compromise between keeping oil in and keeping dirt out. SKF solves this by co-molding two entirely different elastomer compounds into a single highly specialized seal.

The iconic SKF green rubber compound is utilized on the outer dust wiper to act as a tough, abrasion-resistant barrier against dried mud, roost, and fine silt. The inner red rubber compound is a much softer, highly friction-optimized material dedicated exclusively to sealing the fork oil inside the stanchion tube. This two-part construction drastically reduces the static friction (stiction) in the initial stroke of your suspension, making the front end feel incredibly plush over small bumps and washboard terrain, all without sacrificing durability.

Fitment Notes:

• Verification: Always physically verify your motorcycle is equipped with 49mm Showa forks before ordering, as manufacturers occasionally switch suspension suppliers between model years.

• Protect the Seal Lip: The inner sealing lip on these dual-compound seals is incredibly soft. This means it is extremely easy to tear during installation. When sliding the new seal down over the chrome stanchion tube, you must wrap the sharp edges of the fork bushing grooves in a layer of electrical tape or use a dedicated fork seal bullet. Sliding the unprotected red rubber over those sharp metal edges will slice the seal before you even get it installed, guaranteeing an immediate leak.
