Specifically updated to fit the 2025+ as well as the 2019–2024 (Gen1) chassis. The Rtech Lower Engine Protector is a "Quiet-Tech" alternative to heavy, vibrating aluminum skid plates. Molded from a high-density, shock-resistant technopolymer, it absorbs impacts from rocks and stumps while sliding over obstacles with significantly less friction than metal.

The skid plate gets a lot of good press because of its looks. But what I didn’t realize is that all the reviews have bikes with no crash bars. I bought the skid plate thinking it was adding more protection, but because it’s made in Italy, it’s very hard to find much info on it here in the US. What I experience while having had crash bars on my bike, I had to remove the top 3 1/4 inches of the upper protective plate to allow my crash bars to clear that. What I also found out and they didn’t tell you in the very poorly worded instructions was that you have to move your horn and you have to remove the heat shield on your stock catalytic converter on the Tenere. I cleaned it up as best I could, but it still looks a little butchered. I’m not sure why they would assume that you would not put any crash bars over the very expensive stock plastic. Also another popular modification is to put the high fender kit on it. Ifyour choice is to cut the end of your fender off. In my case since I had to cut the top, the fender clears when I’m done. The bolt I’m pointing to is unclear in the mounting instructions.
