The Moose Racing Skid Plate provides heavy-duty, full-coverage protection for the lower engine, exhaust headers, and vulnerable rear shock linkage of the Aprilia Tuareg 660. Manufactured from 8mm thick High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) plastic, this skid plate is designed to absorb massive trail impacts without permanently bending, denting, or deforming like traditional aluminum guards.
The HDPE construction offers significant advantages for adventure riders. The polymer material naturally glides over rocks and logs, reducing the chance of hanging up the motorcycle in technical terrain. Furthermore, the thick plastic completely eliminates the vibration and engine noise reflection typically experienced with large aluminum skid plates, resulting in a much quieter ride at highway speeds. It mounts securely to the chassis using a robust, multi-point steel bracket system.
