The Michelin StarCross 6 Medium Hard is a high-performance offroad tire designed for intermediate to hard-packed terrain. It is the first dirt tire to utilize Silica Technology, a compound that maintains knob integrity on abrasive surfaces significantly longer than traditional rubber.
This tire is engineered to perform consistently throughout its entire lifespan. Michelin testing shows that the StarCross 6 provides 16% more traction when new and 19% more grip when worn compared to the previous StarCross 5 generation.
Silica Technology: Provides high resistance to knob "chunking" and tearing, especially on blue-groove hardpack and rocky trails.
Adaptive Tread Pattern: The block layout is specifically positioned to maximize the contact patch, providing predictable grip at high lean angles.
Enhanced Durability: The combination of a reinforced carcass and silica-rich compound results in an 11% increase in overall tire life.
Braking Performance: Features a stiffened casing to reduce tire squirm under heavy braking loads on firm ground.
Primary Terrain: Hard-packed clay, baked dirt, and stony/rocky off-road sections.
Secondary Terrain: Intermediate dirt where the surface is firm but not yet "concrete."
Not Recommended For: Deep mud or soft sand (see the StarCross 6 Medium Soft or Sand versions for these conditions).
