Maxima Racing Shock Fluid is engineered to withstand the extreme temperatures, high shear forces, and rapid pressure changes inherent to off-road and track riding. Formulated with a proprietary blend of zero-drag synthetic bases and shear-stable additives, this fluid boasts an ultra-high viscosity index (350+). This ensures the fluid maintains precise thickness and consistent damping characteristics as the shock body heats up, actively preventing shock fade and unpredictable handling under heavy use.
In addition to thermal stability, the fluid is fortified with advanced anti-foaming agents to prevent cavitation (air bubble formation) inside the shock body, keeping your hydraulic valving circuits operating accurately. It also actively conditions internal elastomer seals to prevent them from drying out, effectively extending the service life of high-performance steel and aluminum rear shocks.
Zero-Drag Formula: Friction-reducing additives cut down on internal stiction, allowing the shock to respond faster and smoother to small stutter bumps.
Ultra-High Viscosity Index: With a VI over 350, the fluid resists thermal breakdown, guaranteeing consistent compression and rebound damping regardless of operating temperature.
Anti-Foaming Agents: Prevents air entrainment and cavitation inside the shock body to maintain precise hydraulic control.
Seal & O-Ring Protection: Conditions internal rubber elastomer seals to prevent drying, cracking, and premature fluid leaks.
Universal Compatibility: An ideal fluid choice for rebuilding modern Showa, KYB, WP, Öhlins, FOX, and custom racing rear shock absorbers.
If you are unsure which weight to choose, default to the Light (3wt) option for modern dirt bikes and dual-sports. Modern suspension valving is highly precise and designed to flow thin fluids. Jumping immediately to a 10wt fluid on a modern Showa or KYB shock will often make the suspension feel harsh, over-damped, and unresponsive to clicker adjustments.
