K&L Tool MC455 Fat Jack Manual Scissor Center Lift Jack

The K&L MC455 Fat Jack (37-8660) is a heavy-duty manual scissor lift designed to provide maximum stability when lifting motorcycles, ATVs, and UTVs. Featuring a 16-inch wide platform, it offers a significantly broader footprint than standard center jacks, making it the ideal choice for hoisting heavy cruisers, touring motorcycles, and wide-framed ATVs that can easily tip on narrower lifts.

Constructed from heavy-gauge steel, the MC455 safely lifts up to 1,000 pounds. The lift operates via a standard hex drive, allowing you to easily raise or lower the vehicle using a standard hand ratchet and socket. A thick, durable rubber pad is bonded to the top platform to prevent the vehicle from slipping during maintenance and to protect painted frames or aluminum engine cases from metal-on-metal scratches.

Features:

  • 1,000 lb Capacity: Heavy-gauge steel construction safely supports heavy cruisers, full-dress touring bikes, and ATVs.

  • Extra-Wide Stance: The 16-inch wide platform provides a vastly superior center of gravity and tipping resistance compared to standard narrow jacks.

  • Manual Hex Drive: Easily operated using a standard socket and hand ratchet for smooth, controlled lifting.

  • Broad Lift Range: Collapses down to a low 5.5-inch profile and lifts to a maximum height of 13 inches.

  • Protective Rubber Pad: The thick rubber top pad prevents the motorcycle from sliding and protects the lower frame rails from damage.

What's in the Box

  • 1x K&L MC455 Fat Jack Manual Scissor Lift

  • Note:Does not include a ratchet or socket for operation

Application Notes:

  • Use Case: A useful shop tool for performing front and rear tire changes, suspension service, and oil changes on motorcycles with flat lower frames.

  • Versatility: Can be used directly on the garage floor or utilized as an auxiliary center jack on top of a full-size motorcycle lift table.

  • No Impact Guns: While it is tempting to put a high-torque pneumatic or electric impact gun on the hex drive to raise the jack instantly, you must avoid this. The high-speed hammering action of an impact wrench will damage the internal threads of the lifting trunnion, seizing the jack. Always use a standard hand ratchet or a low-speed, smooth-drive drill to raise and lower the jack.

  • The Balance Shift: Even with the wide 16-inch base, a motorcycle balanced on a center jack is subject to gravity. If you have the bike perfectly balanced and then remove the entire front wheel and fork assembly, the center of gravity will shift drastically to the rear, causing the bike to tip backward off the jack. Always secure the motorcycle to the jack or your lift table using tie-down straps before removing heavy components.
