The OEM Honda clutch is known to suffer from fade, chatter, and premature wear when subjected to heavy slipping in technical single-track or slow-speed riding. This comprehensive kit replaces the entire factory friction and steel plate stack, eliminating those issues by utilizing advanced friction materials and strict manufacturing tolerances.

The kit includes high-temperature friction plates designed to resist burning and glazing, paired with precision-ground steel separator plates that will not warp or expand under extreme heat like aluminum plates can. Fitment Notes:

• Pre-Soak: Soak the new friction plates in the same engine oil that you run in the bike before installation. Do not install them dry. Place the friction plates in a clean zip-lock bag or shallow pan and let them soak for a minimum of 3 to 4 hours (overnight is highly recommended). Installing dry plates can prematurely burn or glaze the friction material.

• Lever Pull Trade-Off: Because the Hinson clutch springs are stiffer than the factory Honda springs (which prevents the clutch from slipping under heavy load), you will notice a slightly heavier pull at the clutch lever. For most riders, this is a minor and acceptable trade-off for gaining a bulletproof clutch that won't fade halfway up a rocky canyon. If you want to offset the heavier pull, we recommend pairing this kit with a high-leverage aftermarket clutch perch and keeping your clutch cable strictly lubricated.
