Fitment Notes:

  • Position: The FD271 pad shape is predominantly utilized in Front brake calipers across various sport and street motorcycle platforms. If you are unsure if these pads fit your motorcycle, please email tmbrmoto@tmbrmoto.com

  • Pakaging: The Galfer FD271G1370 brake pads are sold as a pair. If your motorcycle has two calipers, you will need to order two sets.
  • Rotor Preparation: Before installing new sintered brake pads, it is mandatory to clean and prep your brake rotors. Use a dedicated brake or contact cleaner alongside a scuff pad (like Scotch-Brite) to strip away old pad material, road grime, and glazing from the rotor surface. Installing new pads onto a glazed rotor will significantly reduce your braking performance and often causes severe squealing.

  • The Bed-In Process: Sintered pads require a proper bed-in procedure to transfer a microscopic layer of friction material evenly onto the rotor. Once installed, perform 8 to 10 moderate, controlled stops from roughly 35 mph down to 5 mph on a safe, paved surface. Do not come to a complete stop while holding the brake lever hard, as this can imprint pad material unevenly onto the hot rotor. Allow the brakes to cool as you ride.
