Features:

  • 40/60 Adventure tire.
  • Delivers strong performance both off-road and on-road. It provides excellent off-road traction and cornering grip, outstanding wet grip, good chipping resistance, balanced handling, and road-tire stability and performance.
  • Aggressive tread pattern derived from our popular D908RR has been optimized to reduce rolling noise and provide improved road performance without sacrificing off-road performance.
  • Unequaled wet performance thanks to a wet-focused compound with highly dispersible high surface area silica.
  • Dynamic Front Formula (DFF) is a tire design method utilizing an intricately balanced combination of section profile, carcass material properties and assembly process to provide exceptional handling.
  • Carcass Tension Control System (CTCS) utilizes variable tension across the whole carcass width to optimize the contact patch for the ideal footprint and remarkable handling.
  • Jointless Belt construction (JLB) in radial sizes eliminates the belt overlap, resulting in smoother handling, minimizes the tread center’s dynamic growth at high speed, and reduces distortion and excessive heat build-up.
  • Tie bars linking blocks help rigidify the tread to improve handling and stability.
  • Rear tread has larger center blocks to cope with road riding and high power output engines.
  • The Raid range comprises both radial and bias sizes to target both medium-size dual-sport models to full-size adventure bikes.

Wow! Really great tire for off-road ADV riding

Wow! I thrashed this tire for two weeks riding the Montana Moutain Range Tour, which is a 2,300 mile (although we rode 2,655 miles) tour of western mountain ranges.

We rode dry pavement (maybe 20% of the ride was pavement), wet pavement, dry and wet gravel, and maybe 40 miles of rocky double track, mud and silt. Last year, i did the Idaho BDR on my new Tenere 700 - i started the IDBDR with 300 street miles, and 50 off-road miles on the 700. The stock Scorpions were OK, but were toast at 3,300 miles.

The Raids have 2,600 miles and look pretty new yet. Traction was good almost everywhere, even side hilling. On day 11 of 12, we ran into a bunch of silt, and that was the only time that i didn't have confidence in the tire. However, i am unsure of what tire would give me confidence in silt.

Before I bought tires, I spoke with Brandon. He was SUPER helpful. I lean towards Dunlop (they've supported USA motorcycle racing for decades), and Brandon suggested these when I described what we were riding. Brandon was RIGHT ON!

I also asked about a 140/80 vs the 150/70. Brandon explained that the only way to go was with the 150/70 given the width of the stock tenere rim.

I followed Brandon's advice, and tires were the last thing I worried about on this trip.

I'd buy another pair in a second - i'll need a new pair next year before the next big adventure. I have a number of other rides planned for this year, including riding "sweep" for the Boise "Gravel Gala" gravel bike ride on 27 SE 2025.

Love these tires!

Purchased these tires for my 2024 Tenere 700 and I love them! I did the South CA BDR route in them and they worked extremely well for me. I liked the on road handling for when you need to pound some pavement to get off grid. And off pavement they worked really well for me. They took me through deep sand section of the S BDR in Death Valley, rocky trails, washes, hard pack etc. Was super impressed. Their sidewalls were stronger that the tires my buddy was running and despite hitting some good size rocks at speed I had no issues or damage to my wheel where my buddy actually had a good size smile in his rim. Highly recommend them for their performance both on and off road.
