If you already own the standard Barkbusters BHG-124-BK backbone kit—or acquired it for an R 1300 GS with integrated handguard blinkers—installing standard guards removes the factory front turn signals, resulting in lost indicator visibility and triggering a lighting fault on the BMW TFT dash. The B-094 kit resolves this issue by adding the amber sequential LED light modules, mounting brackets, and vehicle-specific connectors required to convert an existing BHG-124-BK backbone kit into the complete specification of the BHG-133-BK system, maintaining street legality and impact resistance for off-road adventure riding.

• Complete Kit Alternative: Riders who do not yet own backbones should purchase the complete Barkbusters BHG-133-BK kit, which includes both the aluminum backbone hardware and these sequential LEDs in a single package.

• CAN-Bus System Synchronization: The BMW R 1300 GS electrical architecture uses advanced body controller monitoring. When connecting the B-094 kit to the factory harness, ensure the motorcycle's ignition remains completely OFF. Once connected, turn the ignition on and run both the left and right turn signals, followed by the four-way hazard flashers, for 30 seconds each. This permits the central vehicle computer to measure the circuit resistance and calibrate the sequential draw profile without throwing a dash error.

• Wire Routing & Pinch Protection: When mounting the LED housings to the BHG-124-BK aluminum backbones, route the wiring leads along the inside recessed curve of the aluminum bar toward the handlebar clamps. Fasten the wire securely using UV-resistant zip ties, ensuring it does not wrap around the outer leading edge of the aluminum bar. This ensures that in the event of an off-road drop or rock strike, the impact force is absorbed strictly by the aluminum backbone rather than severing the indicator harness.

• Steering Lock Clearance Check: After completing the physical installation and plugging in the factory wiring connectors, turn the handlebars slowly from full left lock to full right lock. Confirm that the indicator wiring harness has adequate strain relief and does not pull taut against the front fairing subframe, brake lines, or hydraulic clutch hose.
