The Arai XD-5 is a complete redesign of the legendary XD-4, representing the pinnacle of premium adventure touring helmets. Engineered with an entirely new PB-cLc2 Super Fiber shell, the XD-5 features a rounder, smoother profile to maximize Arai's signature "Glancing-Off" capability. This design allows the helmet to slide over uneven surfaces, reducing the transfer of rotational impact energy to the rider's head and neck during a crash.

The XD-5 introduces the new VAS-A (Variable Axis System) tool-less visor mechanism, a redesigned aerodynamic peak to eliminate highway buffeting, and a significantly larger chin vent for optimal off-road airflow. Finished in the striking matte "Discover Black Frost" graphic, this helmet provides three distinct riding configurations: Adventure (Peak + Shield), Street (Shield only), or Off-Road (Peak + Goggles). It comes communication-system ready with a flattened side profile and integrated wire routing, and includes a Pinlock 120XLT Max Vision insert to ensure a fog-free ride in all conditions.

Fitment Notes:

• Tool-Less Conversion: One of the biggest complaints about the older XD-4 was the need for a coin or screwdriver to remove the peak and visor, often resulting in scratched plastic side plates. The XD-5 completely solves this with the VAS-A system. You can easily pop the side covers and swap configurations (or clean your shield) with your bare hands on the side of the trail.

• Comms Installation: Arai directly addressed Bluetooth communicators with the XD-5. The shell features a specific flattened area on the left side to securely adhere your Cardo or Sena unit, without the curved ridge fighting the adhesive mount. Additionally, the neck roll has a built-in pocket to tuck excess speaker wire, keeping your interior looking clean and preventing wires from snagging when you put the helmet on.
