Motion Pro Fork Seal Installation Bullets

The Motion Pro Fork Seal Bullet is an inexpensive but critical shop tool designed to protect fragile new fork seals during installation. Modern inverted (USD) motorcycle forks feature sharp edges at the bottom of the stanchion tube where the lower slide bushings seat. When you force a new, soft fork seal over these bare edges, the inner lip of the seal can easily get sliced, nicked, or rolled backward, leading to an immediate oil leak on your first ride.

The seal bullet slides over the top of the fork tube and perfectly covers the sharp bushing groove, creating a smooth, tapered transition. This allows the new dust wiper and oil seal to glide effortlessly onto the fork tube without any risk of damage. It completely eliminates the old, unreliable mechanic's method of wrapping the tube in electrical tape or plastic bags. Fitment Notes:

• Sizing System: The size in millimeters corresponds directly to the outer diameter of your motorcycle's lower chrome fork stanchion tube.

• Verify First: Always verify your exact fork tube diameter in your factory service manual before ordering. A 48mm fork requires a 48mm bullet.

• Inverted Forks: Designed specifically for modern inverted (USD) forks. It is not necessary for conventional, right-side-up forks.

• Installation Only: This tool is forinstalling new seals. It is not a removal tool and will not assist in taking old seals off.

• Lube It Up: Even with the bullet correctly in place, you should not install fork seals completely dry. Always dip the exterior of the fork seal bullet and the inner lip of your new oil seal in a small cup of fresh suspension fluid before sliding it on. The wet lubrication ensures the tight rubber seal slides perfectly over the plastic bullet without gripping and rolling the delicate lip backward.

• The Tape Myth: For years, mechanics would wrap the bushing groove in a tight layer of electrical tape or a plastic bag to protect the seal. The problem? When sliding a tight new seal over the tape, the tape often bunches up, stretches, or leaves a microscopic bead of adhesive residue directly on the sealing lip—which immediately attracts dirt and causes a leak.
