The Mitas Terra Force-EX MH Super is a full-tread depth, competition-ready off-road tire engineered specifically for medium-to-hard terrain. Replacing the older generation of Mitas hard-terrain tires, the new Terra Force-EX line utilizes a refined tread pattern with aggressive, widely spaced knobs that provide exceptional traction and braking control on hardpack dirt, rocky trails, and dry desert conditions.
Mitas utilizes a color-coded stripe system to denote the carcass and compound of their tires. This specific tire features the Yellow Stripe, which designates the "Super" construction. It is built with a reinforced medium carcass and a highly durable, tear-resistant rubber compound. This makes the Yellow Stripe MH the ideal choice for high-speed desert racing, cross-country hare scrambles, or aggressive trail riders who demand maximum mileage and puncture resistance on rocky, abusive terrain.
Yellow Stripe (Super) Construction: Features a reinforced medium carcass and a highly durable rubber compound designed for high-speed stability and long tread life.
Medium/Hard (MH) Profile: Optimized for maximum forward bite and lateral grip on hardpack dirt, rocks, and dry, slick terrain.
Aggressive Tread Design: Well-spaced, full-height (17mm) knobs clear debris effectively while hooked side knobs aid in acceleration and cornering at extreme lean angles.
Puncture Resistant: The tough Super compound resists chunking and tearing when subjected to sharp rocks and heavy loads.
DOT Approved: 100% street-legal and DOT certified for dual-sport use (designed for a 20% road / 80% off-road application).
Tube Requirement: This is a Tube Type (TT) tire and must be installed with a standard inner tube, heavy-duty tube, or foam mousse insert.
Race Compliance: Because this tire features full-height 17mm knobs for maximum traction, it generally exceeds the 13mm tread depth limit for FIM-sanctioned events. It is perfectly suited for AMA racing (GNCC, National Enduro, Desert) and recreational trail riding.
Tire Pressure: For standard trail riding on the Yellow Stripe with heavy-duty tubes, 12-14 PSI is a good starting point. The stiffer "Super" carcass offers excellent sidewall support, meaning you can drop pressures slightly lower than you would on a standard dual-sport tire without immediately risking a pinch flat, though we always recommend pairing it with a foam mousse for aggressive racing.
Decoding the Mitas Stripes: Understanding the Mitas stripe system is critical to getting the right tire for your riding style.
Yellow Stripe (Super): The tire you are looking at right now. Built with a stiffer carcass and durable rubber for high-speed desert, hare scrambles, and maximizing tire life on rocky trails.
Green Stripe (Super Light): Uses a softer, more flexible carcass with a gummy compound for technical trail riding and wet roots.
Double Green Stripe (Super Soft): The extreme hard-enduro competition tire with a wildly soft, sticky compound designed for absolute grip over its lifespan

I used these tires with Nitro mousses for the 2026 Sonora Rally over 5 days and found the traction to be very good. I was in dry soft sand, firm sand river rock beaches, gravel washes and sand washes.
