SW-Motech Rear Cargo Rack for the 2022+ Kawasaki KLR650

The SW-MOTECH Adventure-Rack (GPT.08.990.19000/B) is a heavy-duty, versatile cargo platform engineered specifically for the current generation Kawasaki KLR650. Designed to replace the factory rear rack, it provides a significantly stronger foundation for hauling essential gear during aggressive off-road and overland travel. Machined from 4mm-thick aluminum alloy, this rack is built to withstand extreme vibrations, impacts, and heavy luggage loads that often fatigue standard plastic or cast OEM racks.

The Adventure-Rack features a wide contact surface with multiple large lashing eyes, making it effortless to secure tail bags, dry bags, or roll bags with 25mm tie-down straps. Additionally, the rack includes pre-drilled functional bores that allow for the direct mounting of top case adapter kits (sold separately). This makes the platform fully compatible with SW-MOTECH TRAX top cases, SysBags, as well as third-party top cases from brands like Givi, Shad, and Krauser.

Fitment Notes:

• KLR650 Subframe Considerations: While the 4mm aluminum Adventure-Rack is exceptionally strong, the KLR650's rear subframe bolts are a known weak point when subjected to heavy off-road abuse with a fully loaded top bag or case. If you plan to ride wash board or rough dirt roads, we recommend upgrading your factory subframe bolts to high-tensile aftermarket hardware. Always keep your heaviest items (tools, extra fluids) lower on the bike in your panniers, and reserve your rear rack for lighter, bulkier items.
