Motion Pro Nitrogen Shock Gauge & Filler

The Motion Pro Nitrogen Shock Gauge & Filler (08-0072) is a specialized suspension tool designed for checking and filling the nitrogen pressure in motorcycle and ATV rear shock absorbers. A rear shock holds a very small volume of nitrogen under extremely high pressure. Attempting to check this pressure with a standard tire gauge will instantly release a massive amount of the gas, drastically dropping the shock's internal pressure and diminishing its damping characteristics.

This Motion Pro tool solves that problem utilizing a zero-loss T-handle plunger pin chuck. This design allows you to securely thread the chuck onto the shock's Schrader valve to create a perfect seal before you turn the T-handle down to depress the valve core. This ensures zero pressure is lost during connection or disconnection. The assembly features a highly accurate 300 psi gauge, a 12-inch flexible hose on a swivel chuck for tight clearances, and an integrated micro-bleeder valve to perfectly dial in your exact target pressure.

Application Notes:

• Universal Fitment: Works with any motorcycle, ATV, or UTV shock absorber equipped with a standard Schrader valve.

• Required Equipment: This tool is a gauge and filler manifold. To actually fill a flat shock, you must connect this tool to a regulated nitrogen tank (tank and regulator are not included).

• Air Compressor Warning: Never fill a motorcycle shock with a standard garage air compressor. Compressed shop air contains moisture that will expand under heat and rapidly degrade the internal shock oil. Always use pure, dry nitrogen.

• The Disconnect Sequence: The magic of this tool is entirely in the T-handle, but you must use it in the correct order. When you are finished filling the shock and your gauge reads the perfect pressure, do not unthread the chuck from the valve stem yet. First, turn the T-handle counter-clockwise until it stops. This retracts the pin and closes the shock's Schrader valve while the chuck is still sealed. You will hear a small "pssst" of air when you finally unscrew the chuck from the shock—do not panic, that is just the residual gas bleeding out of the 12-inch hose, not out of your freshly filled shock.

• The Showa Extension: Many modern Honda and Kawasaki dirt bikes utilize Showa rear shocks where the nitrogen fill valve is deeply recessed into the aluminum shock body, making it impossible to thread a standard chuck onto it. Motion Pro includes a brass extension adapter in this kit specifically for this scenario. Keep this adapter safely in the provided box; if you lose it, you will not be able to service Showa suspension.
