AXP Racing Adventure Skid Plate for the Ducati DesertX

The AXP Racing Adventure Skid Plate (AX1679) provides uncompromising off-road protection for the Ducati DesertX without the excessive weight and vibration issues associated with traditional aluminum bash plates. Manufactured in Europe from 8mm-thick High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE), this plate is engineered to absorb violent impacts, returning to its original shape rather than permanently bending or denting.

The AXP design fully encloses the vulnerable engine block all the way up to the radiator. Crucially, it features an isolated mounting strategy on the left side to shield the water pump. Rather than bolting directly to the fragile engine cases, the plate utilizes a dense foam buffer to absorb shock and prevent a severe impact from cracking the engine. Weighing in at just 7.9 lbs (3.6 kg), this HDPE skid plate is 30% to 40% lighter than equivalent alloy options while completely eliminating the loud, metallic ringing noise generated when rocks strike the bottom of the motorcycle.
