The Acerbis 3.9 Gallon Fuel Tank (Part 246481) for the Suzuki DR-Z400 platform provides a significant increase in fuel capacity over the factory tank, extending your riding range for long dual-sport routes, backcountry trails, and adventure riding. Constructed from impact-resistant, cross-linked polyethylene, this tank is designed to withstand heavy off-road abuse without denting or rupturing like a standard metal fuel tank.
Despite the increased 3.9-gallon (14.7-liter) volume, the tank is engineered to carry the fuel lower on the chassis. This design maintains a narrow ergonomic profile that does not interfere with rider movement, while the integrated side wings provide additional crash protection for your motorcycle's radiators. It is designed as a direct replacement for the OEM tank and includes a new gas cap, petcock, and mounting hardware.

Pre-Installation Wash: Always rinse the inside of a new plastic fuel tank with a small amount of clean gasoline before bolting it to the motorcycle. The injection-molding and manufacturing process can occasionally leave microscopic plastic shavings or debris inside the tank that will easily clog your fuel petcock screen or carburetor jets.
Fuel Line Routing: When installing the supplied dual petcocks and routing the new fuel lines to a single carburetor inlet using a Y-fitting, pay close attention to your hose routing. Ensure the lines are not kinked, are routed away from moving engine components, and have safe clearance from the extreme heat of the exhaust header.
