Rekluse - Left Hand Rear Brake Kit - KTM, Husqvarna, GasGas, Desmo

Rekluse Left Hand Rear Brake Kit for KTM, Husqvarna, GasGas and Ducati Desmo Enduro and Dualsport Models

The Rekluse Left-Hand Rear Brake Kit (RMS-5320006) is a dual-actuation hydraulic braking system that adds handlebar-mounted rear brake control to KTM, Husqvarna, and GASGAS motorcycles while retaining full operation of the factory right foot pedal. In technical singletrack, extreme off-camber hill climbs, and right-hand berms, riders often must take their right foot off the peg to dab or weight the chassis, leaving them unable to access the foot pedal to drag or modulate the rear brake.

Engineered and manufactured in Boise, Idaho, this complete system includes a CNC-machined billet handlebar master cylinder, a steel-braided hydraulic line with integrated thermal shielding, and the specialized Rekluse dual-port billet foot master cylinder. The proprietary foot master cylinder functions as an integrated hydraulic junction: pulling the handlebar lever transfers pressure through the foot cylinder directly to the OEM rear caliper, while depressing the foot pedal actuates the caliper independently. The handlebar master cylinder utilizes Rekluse’s RAD Mount Technology, allowing flexible placement either above or below an existing clutch lever with full lateral reach adjustment.

Features:

  • Dual-Actuation Rear Braking: Provides independent rear wheel braking via the left handlebar lever and the conventional right foot pedal without interference.

  • RAD Mount Technology: Billet handlebar clamp allows independent angle, reach, and lateral positioning; mounts above or below the stock mechanical/hydraulic clutch perch.

  • Complete System Integration: Includes both the handlebar master cylinder assembly and the specialized dual-port billet foot master cylinder required for dual actuation.

  • High-Pressure Steel-Braided Line: Custom-length braided stainless line prevents line expansion under high fluid temperatures and delivers immediate hydraulic transfer.

  • Integrated Thermal Exhaust Shielding: Heavy-duty thermal fiberglass sleeve protects the hydraulic line from radiant heat where it routes past the exhaust mid-pipe and shock.

  • Billet CNC Aluminum Construction: Master cylinder housings are machined from 6061-T6 aluminum with hard-anodized finishes for roost and impact resistance.

  • Complete Bleed System Included: Ships with dedicated priming syringes, tubing, and adapter fittings for closed-circuit back-bleeding.

  • Made in the USA: Engineered, machined, and hand-assembled at Rekluse headquarters in Boise, Idaho.

Fitment Notes:

  • Clutch Compatibility: Compatible with standard manual clutches, manual clutches fitted with Rekluse manual packages (Core Manual, TorqDrive), and all Rekluse auto clutches (RadiusX, Core EXP 3.0, RadiusCX).

  • Brake Fluid Type: Operates exclusively with glycol-based fluids:DOT 3, DOT 4, and DOT 5.1.

  • CRITICAL FLUID WARNING: DoNOT use silicone-based DOT 5 brake fluid or mineral oil. Introducing mineral oil or silicone fluid will chemically degrade the internal EPDM seals, resulting in total loss of braking pressure.

  • Bottom-to-Top Syringe Back-Bleeding: Bleeding a dual-master-cylinder system requires a strict sequence to avoid air pockets trapped inside the intermediate lines.

    1. Remove the small bleed port screw on the top face of the handlebar master cylinder (using a 2.5 mm Allen key) and thread the included brass adapter fitting with an empty syringe into the port.

    2. Fill the lower syringe with fresh DOT 5.1 fluid, connect it to the OEM rear brake caliper bleeder screw, and crack the nipple 1/2 turn.

    3. Push fluid upward through the caliper, through the Rekluse foot master cylinder, and up the entire line until fluid fills the handlebar syringe without bubbles.

    4. Once free of air, close the caliper nipple, remove the upper syringe/fitting, and reinstall the top bleed port screw before operating either lever.

  • Thermal Sleeve Positioning at the Exhaust: The hydraulic line comes equipped with a sliding thermal fiberglass heat sleeve. When routing the line upward from the foot master cylinder along the rear shock and main frame spars, ensure this heat sleeve is slid down directly opposite the exhaust header and mid-pipe junction. Secure the line to the frame rails using the supplied heavy-duty zip-ties, leaving enough slack for full rear suspension stroke while preventing the braided steel from vibrating directly against raw aluminum frame tubes.

  • Mandatory Pushrod Free Play: Just like the standalone foot cylinder, the pushrod between the foot pedal and the Rekluse master cylinder must maintain 1.0 mm to 2.0 mm of mechanical free play. If adjusted with zero clearance, fluid cannot return to the internal circuit after expansion. As trail friction heats the rear disc, the trapped fluid will pressurize continuously and lock the rear wheel while riding.

  • Handguard Lever Interference Check: When mounting the Rekluse hand lever on the handlebar, check clearance against wrap-around handguard backbones (such as Barkbusters or Enduro Engineering). The hand lever tip must fully extend outward to its mechanical resting stop without contacting the aluminum guard bar. Even 1 mm of constant contact from a handguard acts like a dragged brake, blocking the internal return port and boiling the fluid.
