Any flat is a good way to ruin a perfect day on the trail. While factory 1.5mm inner tubes are lightweight, they simply cannot withstand the abuse of sharp rocks, square-edged ruts, and low-pressure off-road riding. On the other end of the spectrum, massive 4mm ultra-heavy-duty tubes offer great protection but are incredibly difficult to install on the trail and add significant rotational weight to your wheels.
The Michelin Heavy Duty 2.5mm Inner Tube is the ultimate "sweet spot" for off-road, enduro, and adventure riders. It provides a massive step up in puncture and pinch-flat resistance compared to standard tubes, without the extreme unsprung weight penalty of a 4mm tube. Manufactured from a premium natural rubber blend, these tubes offer superior elasticity, meaning they stretch to conform to the inside of your tire carcass rather than tearing under stress. Because they utilize natural rubber instead of synthetic butyl, they also take adhesive patches exceptionally well if you ever do need to make a trailside repair.
The 2.5mm Sweet Spot: Offers the perfect balance—thick enough to aggressively ward off pinch flats and rock punctures, but thin enough to keep your suspension responsive and your installation straightforward.
Premium Natural Rubber: Highly elastic construction resists tearing and tearing under heavy loads, and inherently bonds much better to traditional vulcanizing patches than synthetic tubes.
TR4 Valve Stem: Features a heavy-duty straight metal valve stem with a threaded base, securely vulcanized into the thickest part of the tube to prevent tear-outs.
Optimized Rotational Mass: Keeps the unsprung weight of your wheels lower than a 4mm UHD tube, preserving your motorcycle's intended acceleration, braking, and handling characteristics.
Friction Resistance: The high-quality rubber compound is engineered to resist internal chafing and heat buildup during high-speed desert or highway transit sections.
