The Mitas Enduro Trail+ Dakar is the heavy-duty, transcontinental evolution of the legendary E-07+ Dakar. Engineered specifically for fully loaded, high-horsepower adventure motorcycles, this 40/60 tire (40% off-road / 60% on-road) is built to survive extreme mileage, sharp rocks, and heavy luggage loads without compromising highway stability.
Identifiable by the signature yellow stripe on the tread, the Dakar version features an ultra-heavy-duty reinforced carcass and a harder rubber compound compared to the standard Enduro Trail+. This stiffer construction drastically increases puncture and pinch-flat resistance in technical terrain. The tread utilizes a large, staggered chevron block pattern that provides a massive contact patch for smooth, predictable cornering on pavement, while the independent shoulder lugs dig into mud, deep gravel, and loose dirt when you hit the trail.
40/60 Performance: True 40% off-road and 60% street capability, serving as a highly versatile dual-sport option for long-distance travel.
Dakar Construction: The "Yellow Stripe" designation indicates an extra-ply, reinforced carcass designed for maximum puncture resistance and load-carrying capacity.
Extended Mileage: Harder rubber compound significantly outlasts standard ADV tires, making it ideal for cross-country highway transits and BDRs.
Chevron Block Tread: Large central blocks maintain a smooth, quiet highway ride and excellent water evacuation on wet roads.
M+S Rated: Mud and Snow classified, ensuring reliable performance in unpredictable weather and varying climates.
Legacy Design: Replaces the highly popular Mitas E-07+ Dakar, maintaining its off-road DNA while improving on-road manners.
Tubeless Compatibility: Approved for Tubeless (TL) applications, but perfectly safe to run with heavy-duty tubes on tube-type (TT) spoked rims.
Standard vs. Dakar: If your riding consists mostly of pavement commuting with weekend dirt roads, the Standard version offers more compliance and easier installation. Choose this Dakar (Yellow Stripe) version if you are loading the bike down with heavy camping gear and tackling rocky, demanding BDRs where puncture resistance is critical.
Airing Down: The Dakar's ultra-stiff carcass requires significantly lower off-road pressures (low 20s to high teens) to deflect and grip the trail. Running highway pressures (35-40 PSI) in the dirt will result in a harsh ride, whereas airing down allows the chevron tread to open up without risking rim strikes.
Trackside Mounting: The puncture resistance of the Dakar comes at a cost: it is notoriously difficult to mount by hand. To ease installation, warm the tire in direct sunlight to soften the rubber, use generous amounts of bead lube, take small bites with your irons, and utilize a Bead Buddy to keep the opposite bead firmly in the drop center
