The Maxima Air Filter Cleaner Aerosol Spray transforms a chore into a quick, targeted process. This heavy-duty emulsion-type cleaner is specifically formulated to instantly cut through the stickiest liquid and aerosol filter oils, dissolving heavy dirt, dust, and grease on contact.

Unlike harsh solvents (like gasoline or brake cleaner) that dry out filter elements and dissolve the industrial adhesives holding them together, Maxima's specialized formula is 100% safe for all foam and fabric air filters. The aerosol delivery system allows you to penetrate the deep pores of the foam and minimize chemical waste. Once applied, the cleaner and the suspended dirt easily wash out with standard water, leaving your filter looking brand new and ready for a fresh application of oil.

Best Practices: Don't rush it. Spray the cleaner generously over the entire surface of the dirty filter. Let it sit for 3 to 5 minutes so the emulsion can fully break down the sticky filter oil—but do not let it dry completely. Gently massage the filter with your hands (wear nitrile gloves) to work the cleaner deep into the foam.

Rinse From the Inside Out: When you rinse the filter with water, always direct the water stream from the inside of the filter toward the outside. If you wash from the outside in, you are just driving the microscopic dirt particles deeper into the foam core and eventually into your engine. Warm water works best to activate the solvent and carry the grease away.

Never Twist or Wring: After rinsing, gently squeeze the excess water out of the filter. Never wring or twist a foam air filter like a wet towel. Twisting puts immense shear stress on the foam cells and will quickly rip the seams apart. Hang it up and let it air-dry 100% before applying fresh Maxima FFT oil.
