The Gerbing 12 V Heated Vest Liner is a close-fitting, 12-volt motorcycle liner designed to add active heating under or over your riding jacket. With five Microwire™ heating zones across collar, chest (2), and back (2), the vest provides rapid warmth in cool to cold riding conditions.
While not as heavy or insulated as a full jacket liner, it’s ideal for layering when you anticipate variable conditions — say early morning rides, mountaintop stops, or when wind-chill is a factor.
Five zones of heating: collar, two chest zones, two back zones.
Mini-ripstop nylon outer shell, drop-tail design for better coverage while riding.
Designed for connection to your vehicle’s 12 V system via a Gerbing Battery Harness + Temperature Controller (sold separately).
Rated performance: Approx 54 Watts at full heat, 12 V DC 4.5 Amps draw
Made to be worn under your outer shell or jacket, over a thin base layer for best effect.
Because it sits as a layer inside your gear system, it preserves mobility and doesn’t add excessive bulk to your riding kit.
Because this liner draws ~4.5 Amps (or more if other gear is attached) you should ensure your bike’s electrical system (battery, alternator, wiring) can handle the load. Some dualsport bikes with minimal electrical capacity may require careful wiring or limiting other accessories. fjrowners.com+1
You’ll need the correct Battery Harness + Controller for safe connection. Using accessory outlets or improper wiring may cause system instability.
The vest is not a substitute for a properly insulated outer shell in extremely cold or stationary conditions. Active heat plus insulation win together; if you stop riding and the wind-chill is low, you’ll still want layers and your shell zipped up.
Because it’s designed as a mid-layer, you’ll want to ensure your outer jacket has enough room (especially around arms, shoulders, chest) to accommodate both the liner and any protective armor or hydration pack you may carry.
When used on dualsport/adventure bikes, think about wiring routing and securing the harness so it doesn’t interfere with pack straps, hydration tubes, or gear changes.
