The Jensen USB42C Panel Mount Charger is a rugged, weather-resistant power solution designed to keep your essential electronics charged while navigating the backcountry. As modern GPS units, smartphones, and communication systems transition to newer charging standards, relying on a single legacy USB port is no longer sufficient. This outlet solves that problem by providing both a traditional USB-A port and a modern, high-speed USB-C port in a single, compact housing.
Engineered specifically for the demands of powersports, the internal printed circuit board (PCB) is entirely encapsulated in epoxy, granting it superior protection against water intrusion, severe vibrations, and trail dust. Drawing from a standard 12V DC input, it outputs a robust 4.8 Amps of charging current to ensure your devices actually gain battery percentage, even while running power-heavy navigation apps with the screen at maximum brightness. A tight-fitting rubber cap seals the ports when not in use, and a subtle blue LED softly illuminates the faceplate to help you easily locate the ports during night rides.
Dual Charging Standards: Features one legacy USB-A port and one modern USB-C port to simultaneously charge a wide variety of devices.
High Output: Delivers a powerful 4.8 Amps of total charging current, preventing battery drain while devices are actively in use.
Epoxy Potted Electronics: The internal circuit board is completely coated in epoxy to provide ultimate resistance against water and vibration damage.
Weather-Sealed Design: Includes an integrated, watertight rubber cover to completely seal the outlet from rain, mud, and dust when not in use.
Blue LED Backlight: The faceplate features a soft blue LED glow, allowing you to easily plug in your devices in the dark without a flashlight.
UV Resistant: Constructed from durable, UV-resistant black polymer that will not fade, crack, or turn brittle in direct sunlight.
1x Jensen Panel Mount USB-A/USB-C Charger (USB42C)
1x Threaded Locking Nut
1x Watertight Rubber Cover
(Note: Wiring pigtails and inline fuses are not included and must be sourced separately).
Universal Application: Designed to mount into any flat plastic or aluminum panel on a motorcycle fairing, dashboard, ATV, or UTV.
Installation Hole: Requires drilling a circular mounting hole (typically 1-1/8 inch or 29mm). Please verify you have adequate clearance behind your dashboard panel before drilling, as the threaded body requires space for the locking nut and wire terminals.
The Cigarette Lighter Upgrade: If you are riding an older adventure bike (like an early generation KLR650, V-Strom, or a classic BMW GS) that came with a factory 12V "cigarette lighter" style socket, this is the ultimate upgrade. Those old 12V sockets vibrate violently off-road, constantly causing plug-in adapters to lose connection. Yank that obsolete port out, use a step drill bit to slightly enlarge the hole in your plastic fairing, if needed, and drop this Jensen unit in. You will gain a rock-solid, vibration-proof connection and charge your gear with modern USB-C technology.
Switched Power is Mandatory: When wiring this unit, do not connect it directly to your motorcycle's battery unless you install a dedicated toggle switch. Because this outlet features a blue LED backlight and internal voltage transformers, it will draw a tiny amount of current (parasitic draw) even when nothing is plugged in. If wired directly to the battery, it will slowly drain it while the bike is parked in your garage. Always wire this charger to an ignition-switched 12V power source so it automatically shuts off when you turn the key off.

Part Number: USB42C

The 2024 husqvarna norden 901 expedition is very well sorted, lots of surprises as far as factory tweaks. But a cigarette charger style outlet? Is this my grandpas Buick? The good part of the 901 is the headlight comes out with three bolts, and four bolts for the windscreen, easy access to the front wiring. Yank the cig port, use a step drill to increase the hole diameter in the plastic, install the Jensen unit, and charge your stuff with modern technology.
