CFMOTO Ibex 450 / 450MT Handlebar Diameter: What You Need to Know

If you're planning to upgrade or customize your cockpit on the CFMOTO Ibex 450 (also known as the 450MT), there’s one spec that’s easy to overlook but important to know: the main handlebar clamp diameter is 1 inch (25.4mm).

This is not a standard size used on most dualsport and adventure motorcycles in the U.S., where 1 1/8 inch (28.6mm) “fat bars or taper bars” are far more common. Occasionally we still see a 7/8 inch bar come on some models like the Honda CRF300L, but 1 1/8 inch bars are the most common on new bikes. That difference affects more than just your handlebar choice—it impacts everything from bar mounts to handguard fitment.

Handguard Compatibility

If you're keeping the stock 1" bars, handguards like the Barkbusters BHG-089-00-NP are one of the few options designed specifically to work with the Ibex 450 / 450MT. This kit is purpose-built to clear the fairing and controls of the Ibex (as well as the Ducati Multistrada) providing a solid mounting solution without modification. Upgrading to Standard 1 1/8” Offroad Bars

The stock 1 inch bars can be limiting. There simply are not a lot of options built to work with a 1 inch bar. From handguards to GPS mounts and more. If you want to run a proper 1 1/8 inch off-road bar like a Renthal Fat Bar or Cheetah Factory Racing Enduro bar, you'll need to replace the stock 1" mounts. A solution that we have been able to test with good results is the MSC Moto ABM01 Apex Anti-Vibration Bar Mount, which adapts the Ibex 450 to accept 1 1/8” bars while also reducing vibration.  Find the MSC Moto APEX Mount that fits the Ibex 450

Final Thoughts

The 1" handlebar spec is an outlier in today’s ADV market, and while it works fine out of the box, it can limit your options if you're looking to personalize your controls with more common aftermarket options. Knowing this up front helps avoid surprises when shopping for bars, mounts, or guards.
